Pastor's Blog

Pastor Peter Samuelson has been the shepherd of the Emmanuel flock since early in 2003. He has his B.A. in Philosophy from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN and his M. Div. from Luther Seminary in St. Paul, MN. Pastor Samuelson also has a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA. He is active in Concerned Black Clergy of Atlanta, serving on their board. He is an adjunct instructor in the department of Educational Psychology at Georgia State University. Pastor Samuelson writes a blog for the Day 1 organization and it can be found at Day1.org.

Pastor Samuelson sees his primary responsibility as bringing the word of God’s grace, love and forgiveness to those who need to hear it whether members of Emmanuel or members of the community at large. Emmanuel is a community that lives in God’s grace and extends that grace and love to the world.

Pastor Samuelson is married to Pastor Debra Samuelson of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Atlanta. He has two children, Miriam, 24 and Isaac, 21.
